Dragon’s Lair 2: Time Warp is a complete grab at nostalgia. The lasting legacy of Dragon’s Lair has been the quicktime event: pressing a series of buttons or directions to make something cinematic happen. Among others, Shenmue did it, God of War does it, and Resident Evil does it. If God of [...]
During combat, the animation is top notch, with plenty of environmental effects and cool-looking moves. The character designs are good, especially the larger units like the Frost Dragon. A special mention should also go to the design of the Dark Chaos god. Wow. The audio isn’t so top notch.
The games story mode has you playing a wrestler named Suicide, or formally known as Suicide anyway – as in the games intro where you find yourself on top of the TNA Wrestling World, you get taken out and dumped in Mexico with amnesia. Apparently they did quite a number on you, so a couple [...]
Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay. The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life 2’s Gravity Gun [...]
Original a 2001, Japan only, arcade release, Ikaruga’s unique twist on top down, 2d shooting is acclaimed as some of the best in it class. Ports also made it to the Dreamcast in 2002 and then to the Gamecube in 2003. Now it is the Xbox Live Arcade’s turn to have its shot, so what [...]

But like any good puzzle game, Exit challenges you to find creative solutions to your problems, and later maps will become labyrinths filled with underwater passages, conveyor belts, pitch-black rooms, [...]
The story takes place in a factory where prototype robots and toasters are being produced-talk about an odd combination! But when military combat routines are accidentally installed into the new robots, it turns them into strategic killers. To save humanity, a factory worked named Myron creates a new batch of robots that have been implanted [...]
I guess the closest thing I can compare Colossus’s gameplay to would be one of the more recent Legend of Zelda games, except all you do is fight bosses. This is a fairly gross oversimplification, but for lack of a better comparison it will have to do. Essentially, the game is broken up into sixteen [...]
Fable II is an enjoyable journey through the life of a Hero, starting with childhood and slowly developing throughout the game. The storytelling is not always smooth flowing – but it is compelling, and works extremely well given the array of decisions and changes your character makes. In the end, the story ends the same [...]
